Office Manager Position 

The Morris Farm Trust is looking for an office manager for the office at the Farm.  The position will pay $12.25 per hour for 30 hours a week.  The person in this position will manage day-to-day operations, including greeting visitors, managing communications, filing, keeping membership, volunteer and donations records up-to-date, providing financial/bookkeeping assistance, receiving deliveries, maintaining the website, calendars and schedules, and assisting board and volunteers with publicity, fundraising and events.

Detailed position description:

Title: Office Manager

Reports to: The Morris Farm Trust Board of Trustees

Status: Part Time; 30 hours per week

Start date: April 3, 2017

Rate of pay and pay period: $12.25 per hour, paid bi-weekly. 

Hours and location: The incumbent will perform regular office hours at the Farm office and premises

Vacation, comp time, benefits:  This position is not be entitled to vacation pay or "comp" time, and no FLSA overtime would be payable.  There will be no health insurance or other benefits provided by the Morris Farm Trust. 

Description of position duties:

Objectives

To ensure Morris Farm day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently by creating a welcoming and positive environment for Morris Farm visitors, volunteers, farmers, staff and Board.  To increase the Morris Farm's membership and general population served. To oversee and complete administrative requirements of the Morris Farm Trust.  

Specific Duties

Manage and complete all administrative requirements of the Morris Farm Trust, including filing, deposits, financial/bookkeeping assistance, logging and tracking donations and rent and managing the PayPal account. Assist Finance Committee with financial tasks.  Work with Mobius cleaner and supervisor of weekly cleaning.   See that needed supplies are available for the kitchen, bathroom and office. File, renew and post applicable licenses, and any federal and state reports that are required.  Manage office logistics, including overseeing maintenance of equipment, receiving shipments/deliveries and interfacing with service professionals.

Greet visitors and provide materials about the Farm and programs.  Answer questions and/or refer questions to an appropriate person.  Be responsible for Morris Farm communications via phone, mail and email.  Coordinate sending of press releases and newsletters provided by staff and Board members and maintain bulletin board.  Update website regularly to maintain current postings of events and information.

Act as liaison to Volunteer Coordinators, volunteers, Board members, visitors and all interested persons, for events, work days, routine maintenance needed on all facets of the farm, etc. Help maintain volunteer database and help to recruit volunteers.  Maintain membership records (individuals and businesses), and help recruit new members.  Manage Morris Farm calendar (and website to the extent feasible, w/ input and help from appropriate board member(s)).  Work in collaboration with the MFT committees – Education, Local Foods, Farm and Facilities, and Development – providing administrative support to these volunteer efforts.  Assist with fund-raising activities and signature events in coordination with project volunteers and other coordinators (e.g., committee chairs, community garden, school garden).
