Time: 10am - 12pm

Title: Guided Farm Tour and Hike/snowshoe

Description:  Make the Morris Farm your own this fall by coming on a free guided tour.  Take a guided tour of the barn and chicken house, out to the pastures, through the trails, to the yurt and back again.  You'll meet the animals, learn how to pass electric fences and find the trail to the yurt. If we get snow, bring snowshoes.

Time: 6pm -- 8pm

Title: Canning and Preserving

Description: Learn how to can, pickle and freeze to preserve the vegetables from your garden safely for healthy home grown food all winter long.  Bring some produce you want to can or pickle.

Cost: $20 non-Morris Farm members, $15 Morris Farm members

Title: Canoe Paddle Making Workshop ***

Description: Carve a custom canoe paddle from start to finish in this 6 week workshop.  Wood and tools are provided.  At the end of this workshop you will have a beautiful hand-made canoe paddle, a new skill and a life-long hobby. 

Cost: $80 non-Morris Farm members, $60 Morris Farm members

Title: Companion Planting

Description: Corn loves beans and cucumber beetles hate radishes.  Learn how to use the plants in your garden to repel pests and provide nutrients to your garden.

Title: Making Soap with Mandy Nolan

Description: Learn the basics of making soap at home with artist and master soap maker Mandy Nolan.  The class will make a block of soap together, learn about making lip balms and shampoos and have a chance to ask Mandy questions like what inspired her soap called Hippie Stink Vegan or, more simply, where does she buy her organic essential oils and extracts.

Title: Introduction to Composting

Description: Learn the basics to start your own composting solution to food waste at home and how to turn your waste into fertilizer for your gardens.

Title: Medicinal Herbs

Description: Lavender, St. John's Wort, Dead Sea Salts -- you've heard of them but what do they do?  This class provides an introduction to healing herbs and minerals.

Time: 6pm -- 9pm

Title: Turkey Processing

Description: Process your holiday bird start to finish this year. Participants will slaughter (optional), pluck and dress out a Morris Farm pasture-raised turkey. Please bring large cooler and ice to transport your turkey home for Thanksgiving dinner.

Cost: $120 per person, per turkey; turkey included in price (two people may process one turkey together at no additional cost)

Time: 9am – 3pm, both days

Title: Introduction to Cheese Making

Description: A hands-on workshop with Caitlin Hunter, of Appleton Creamery, in basic home cheese making.  In this two-day workshop you'll be using simple equipment you may already have at home to make a jack cheese the first day, press overnight, then finish the second.  In addition, we will also make feta, yogurt, a lactic cheese, quick mozarella, ricotta (a whey cheese) and butter, depending on the interests of the class. This workshop will concentrate on basic cow cheeses using Morris Farm cow and goat milk. Basic use of ripening cultures and rennet and milk chemistry will be covered. Resource list and basic recipes supplied. Attendance can be one or both days. You will go home with cheese that you've made!

Title: Brewer's Workshop

Description: Home-brewer's unite!  All levels of brewer from beginner to expert are invited to brew a batch of beer, share tips, experiences and a bottle of your own home brew that you bring from home.

Cost: $20 non-Morris Farm members, $15 Morris Farm members
