Le Garage has graciously donated both the venue and the talent of their Chef, Mikael Andersson. Andersson is a classically trained Chef from Sweden. Before settling with his wife and family in Wiscasset, he lived and cooked in many European countries and in New York City. He met his wife, the Morris Farm's Kim Andersson, in Budapest, where he was able to avail himself of the freshest and finest ingredients the markets offered early each morning, purchasing directly from the farmers who grew it, before planning the day's menu. Here in Maine, where we have the highest growing number of small, family owned farms and the fastest growing population of young farmers in the country, Chef Mikael can again purchase directly from farmers, taking his inspiration from the best and freshest local ingredients available.
Tickets for this buffet style dinner are $50 each and all proceeds will benefit the Morris Farm Trust. The Morris Farm Trust is a nonprofit educational farm that promotes the values of sustainable agriculture and stewardship of the earth through demonstration, education and community involvement. The Morris Farm is also home to Alan-Dee Registered Holsteins and a variety of gardens; it is open to the public 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset at 156 Gardiner Road in Wiscasset. For more information about the Morris Farm or the Winter's Moon Celebration, please visit www.morrisfarm.org or call 207-882-4080.
